Yummy Christmas Butter Cookies using an Embossing Rolling Pin!

When you think of the holidays, especially Christmas, non stop baking comes to mind. Whether it be cookies or cakes or fun gingerbread man. At Gokitchencarnival.com, we love to bake. Here is one of our favorite Christmas Cookie recipe- Kid approved!

Ingredients:

1 cup of butter

1 Large Egg

1/2 cup of sugar

3 Cups of flour

1/2 Teaspoon of vanilla

1/2 Teaspoon of baking powder

Baking Instructions

  1. Pre-heat your oven to 350 degrees. In a large bowl, beat the sugar and butter together until blended. Start slow on your mixer and increase speed until butter and sugar are creamy.
  2. Reduce speed and beat in egg and vanilla
  3. Add in flour and baking powder and blend well
  4. Divide your dough into equal parts and place in the refrigerator for about 45 to 60 minutes to set.
  5. Place your dough on a floured surface(go light), then using a rolling pin such as this Embossing Rolling pin roll each piece of dough to about 1/8 thickness. Using the Embossing Rolling pin will create some fun Christmas shapes such as reindeers and Christmas trees. The kids or kid at heart will love this tool.
  6. Use a cookie cutter of your choice or this Cute Multipurpose Eco-Friendly Cookie Cutter
  7. Place cookies at least 1 inch apart on a High Quality Heat-Resistant Non-Stick Baking Mat( no parchment needed).
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes
